Ratio of Solid-Liquid Portion or Heavy-Light Portion in Meals

Heavy-Light Portion in Meals should be in equal quantities. While having any meals it is advisable to fill stomach 1/3rd with solid food, 1/3rd with liquid food & leaving 1/3rd of ‘The Stomach’ empty “For The Air to Act on The Meals”. Also, considering ‘Heavy-Light Portion in Meals’, while having ‘Heavy Meals’, Stomach may only be filled up to ½-1/3rd ‘The Point of Saturation’.   ‘Light Meals’ may be eaten to ‘The Point of Saturation’.

Foods if taken in Inappropriate Quantity: This Causes Loss of Strength, Complexion & Development;  Causes upward movement of Vata, Harms Life-Span, Virility and Immunity; Damages Body, Mind, Intellect and Sense-Organs.

Solid Foods Taken in Excess: When one eats Solid Foods up to ‘The Saturation Point’ followed by Drinking Liquids up to The Saturation Point, ‘The Three Doshas’ residing in Stomach-Intestinal-Colon Region are pressed excessively by ‘This excess consumption of food’. Thus The Three Doshas Get Vitiated Simultaneously, creating all sorts of Medical Ailments in The Body.

Light Articles are Predominant in Properties of Vayu (Nerve Force & Air element) and Agni (Metabolism, The Fire Element), and thus, may be taken to Saturation. The Heavy Articles are Predominant in Prithvi (The Earth Element) and Soma (The Water Element), and thus, should not be taken to Saturation.
