Mahasudarshana (P-K-)

 Gunas: Mahasudarshana Mostly Pacifies Pitta & Kapha, Has balancing Effects on all three Doshas, But May Aggravate Vata, if Taken in Excess.

Ingredients:   Mahasudarshana Has Large Number of Ingredients (Approximately 50), and Chirayita (Swertia Chirayita is The Major One – App. 50 %).  Few Ingredients Other Than Chirayata are (All Taken in Equal proportion):

Trifula (Haritaki-Terminalia Chebula, Bibhitaki-Terminalia Belerica, Amalaki-Emblica Officinalis), Trikatu (Black Pepper (Maricha)+Long Pepper (Pippali)+Dry Ginger (Shunti)), Granthika (Pippali Moola) (Root of Long Pepper), Vidanga-Embelia Ribes, Lavanga-Syzygium Aromaticum, Haridra (Turmeric- Curcuma Longa ), Daruhaldi (Daruharidra-Berberis Aristata), Geloy (Guduchi-Tinospora Cordifolia), Brihati (Solanum Indicum), Kantakari (Solanum Xanthocarpum), Shanti (Carcuma Zedoaria), Murva (Sansevieria Roxburghiana), Trayamana (Gentian Kurroa), Vaalaka (Coleus Vettiveroides), Nimba (Azadirachta Indica), Paushkara Moola (Inula Racemosa), Madhuyasti (Glycyrrhiza Glabra), Kutaja (Holarrhena Antidysenterica), and Many More – Very Useful Herbs.

Indications:    Pitta Fevers & Other Pitta Symptoms (Removes excess Pitta, Chronic Fevers, Burning eyes, Inflammation, GERD, Hyperacidity, Pitta Migraines, Skin Psoriasis-Rashes etc.), Anti-Viral, Anti-Bacterial, Anti-Fungal, Anti-Parasitical, Anti-Malarial, Anti-Allergic, Diuretic, Diaphoretic, Blood & Liver Cleanser – Liver Stimulant, Spleen & Liver Enlargement, Removes gall-Bladder Stones,  UTI (Urinary Tract Infections) Nausea, Indigestion.

Dosage:         

  • 1-2 tabs Twice a Day, Depending on the State of Doshas of the Body.
  • If in Powder-Churna Form, 1/3rd (or Lesser) with a Glass of Warm Water 2-3 Times a Day, after Meals.

Contra-Indications: May Aggravate Vata, if Taken in Excess. During Pregnancy, it is Best to Avoid Any Medicine for more than 2 Weeks Duration and go for Pathological Tests and Get Professional Advise.
